We have the privilege in playing a small part in many couples special day! Cookies not only make a sweet addition to any wedding but can act as the perfect favour/bonbonnerie or edible place card.

This year in February we created personalised cookies for a beautiful couple - Rachel and Matt. We loved getting to know this Melbourne- based couple and working with them to make the perfect cookie design to match their theme and colour palette. We sat down with them to discuss their COOKIE STORY and what's next on their horizon...

TCSC: So how did you and Matt meet?

Rachel: Well, it all started with a swipe!... Tinder.

TCSC: And how did he pop the question?

Rachel: I knew marriage was on the cards, as we both went looking at rings together. It all came down to when it was going to happen.

It was very romantic. Matt suggested that we go into the city for dinner. Starting down in the Docklands, where, unbeknown to me, Matt had hired a boat to cruise along the Yarra River. There was a beautiful bouquet of red roses and champagne waiting when I got in the boat.

Matt was a bit nervous and jittery, and we took turns driving down the Yarra River. As I was driving, and took the boat under the Princes Bridge, Matt got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Our special day was capped off with a beautiful dinner at Crown Conservatory.

TCSC: When planning your wedding, what was your main focus?

Rachel: I wanted it to be an elegant, yet casual evening. With formalities over quickly, it was important to me that everyone enjoyed the party and mingled together with the cocktail style reception. Styling for the day started with my invitation design, colour and watercolour featured throughout the day. Being a graphic designer, it was every easy for me to see everything come together for our main day.

TCSC: Why’s supporting small business important to you?

Rachel: Customer service is more personalised and hands on, you really feel a connection when dealing with the business owner directly. You are supporting your neighbours and keeping money in the local economy.

TCSC: Tell us on a scale from one to awesome, how do you rate The Cookie Stories Co.?

Rachel: Awesome! From the amazing taste, price, to the ease of designing and ordering our custom cookies. Kim made the whole process from start to finish effortless. Everyone commented on how amazing the cookies were. I have not hesitated in recommending her to friends and family.

TCSC: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to a bride-to-be?

Rachel: As I planned our wedding in 7 months, it was important to go with my gut instinct and make quick decisions. Trust your vendors, don’t hinder their creativity and micromanage. And importantly, don’t ask for too many opinions, at the end of the day it is your wedding.

TSCS: Finally, what’s the next chapter of Rachel and Matt’s story?

Rachel: The day before we set off on our honeymoon we found out I was pregnant. We are expecting our first child, a boy, at the end of November.
